EU BRAINWASHING DENIES THE ROOTS OF OUR CIVILISATION

FILLED with barbaric hatred and envy, Islamic extremists constantly plot the downfall of our civilisation. Tragically for us they have an ally in their lethal cause: the elite of the European Union. Just like Muslim zealots, the ideological fanatics of Brussels have nothing but contempt for our Christian culture and our national identities. They aim to obliterate our past, our traditions and our patriotism so there will be little resistance to their imposition of a political entity called the United States of Europe.

Mrs Thatcher once described Arthur Scargill, president of the miners’ union, as “the enemy within” because of his eagerness to use mass industrial unrest as a tool against her government. In its epic treachery, its loathing for nationhood and its disdain for democracy, the EU bureaucracy goes one further and is certainly the enemy within Europe.

But the EU, unlike Scargill, is far more than just a threat. Its destructive power is a terrifying reality. The sovereignty of once independent countries is being crushed by the remorseless drive towards integration. Commissars of Brussels are so bigoted in their determination to build a federal superstate without borders, accountability or Christianity that they engage in a brainwashing exercise to erase our heritage from the public consciousness. 

Now we have received another graphic illustration of the sinister mentality at the heart of the EU machine. With its usual enthusiasm for mass propaganda, the EU Commission recently sent out millions of 2011 diaries to schools, 350,000 going to Britain alone. Produced at a cost to the taxpayer of £4.4million, these self-serving notebooks are full of the usual mendacious drivel extolling the virtues of EU unity and  celebrating multi-cultural diversity.

The diary laughably proclaims that the European Parliament is “the people’s voice”, whereas in truth the institution is despised for its remoteness from the people and its serial abuse of our money.

Inevitably there is not a word about the shambles of the euro or the outrageous £5.5billion cost of the EU’s new, unwanted diplomatic service or the bloated salaries of eurocrats or the spectacular corruption in the EU’s accounts which have not been given a clean bill of health for 16 years. But what is outrageous is the diary’s refusal to even acknowledge the existence of the Christian faith in Europe. The pages list all the dates for Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and Chinese festivals but have no mention of any Christian celebrations. Yet the bureaucrats still found space to mention Europe Day on May 9, their self-styled commemoration of their project.

It’s like something that would have been produced by the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell’s novel 1984 in which the socialist regime devoted much of its time to rewriting history so the legacy of European civilisation would be forgotten.

The Christian faith is what built our society from the introduction of our moral code to the creation of great literature, architecture and music yet the EU wants to trash all this. It is not the first time the commission has behaved like this. When the EU’s constitution was being drawn up in 2004 there was a proposal to include a reference to Europe’s Christian roots but it was, predictably, thrown out.

In the wake of an outcry about the diary, the EU Commissioner in charge of information, John Dalli, gave a perfunctory apology and tried to dismiss the omission of the Christian events as nothing more than a mistake but this will not wash.

The diary betrays the classic politically-correct mind set of EU campaigners who hold that every other culture must be celebrated except their own. Masterminded by Catie Thorburn, a Scot living in Belgium, the production of the diary must have involved scores of editors, writers and proof readers yet they were all apparently so immersed in the anti-Christian, anti-Western view of the world that none saw anything wrong with such an insult to Europeans’ main creed.

There is a tremendous hypocrisy at work here. The EU bends over backwards to embrace other faiths and labels anyone as racist who objects to the dogma of multi-culturalism. The schools diary itself warns that within the EU “intolerance will not be tolerated” yet through these pages the EU has demonstrated intolerable prejudice against Christianity.

Supporters of the EU always sneer that their opponents, like this newspaper, are nothing more than reactionary xenophobes peddling scare stories to mislead the ignorant but the mask has now slipped.

The diary has revealed what our EU masters really think. The only “mistake” they made was to reveal too clearly their abhorrence for our traditional civilisation. That is why they are so anxious to keep dismantling the last vestiges of our frontiers, to promote more mass immigration from Asia and Africa, and to give EU membership to Turkey, bringing in 70 million Muslims. If that happens, Europe would become an Islamified continent within less than half a century.

Islamic hardliners don’t need their jihad. The EU is doing the job for them. On the eve of the Battle of Britain in 1940, Winston Churchill declared that “the survival of Christian civilisation” depended on the outcome. Thanks to the perfidious EU, that survival is in doubt without a shot being fired.

£70 to fill up with petrol: Families hit by yet another stealth tax and soaring oil prices

• Government urged to scrap ‘escalator’ rise on fuel duty

Eye-watering: There will be no let up at the pumps as unleaded is set to hit £1.36 by Easter - and diesel will be £1.40

Soaring fuel prices will push the cost of filling up the average family saloon to £70 by Easter, retailers warned last night.
The record high will come in from April 1 as petrol and diesel prices shoot up by 8p a litre thanks to yet another ‘stealth tax’ and rising oil prices.
This will push the cost of unleaded petrol up to £1.36 a litre (£6.18 a gallon) and diesel up to £1.40 a litre (£6.36 a gallon).
It means the cost of filling a saloon with a 50-litre tank will soar to about £70. Only 12 months ago, when petrol was £1.10 a litre, it would have been £56, marking a rise of 25 per cent.
The gloomy forecast for drivers came as Brent crude oil rose to $98 a barrel on London markets yesterday for the first time in 27 months. Experts said breaking the $100 a barrel threshold is ‘imminent’ amid growing global demand.
Petrol retailers have written to George Osborne urging the Chancellor to abandon the next automatic ‘escalator’ rise in fuel duty in his Budget, which will see up to 5p a litre added to the cost of fuel.
Combined with predicted oil price increases, motorists and hauliers face a total rise of 8p.
AA spokesman Luke Bosdet said: ‘Motorists are punch-drunk with these relentless price rises. They are driven by greedy speculators playing the markets and pushing up the price of oil, and therefore petrol and diesel. The pips are squeaking.’
During Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday David Cameron came under renewed pressure to help cash-strapped motorists by introducing a ‘fuel-stabiliser’ – where duty falls to ­compensate for oil price rises, keeping petrol prices on a more even keel.
After days of apparent dithering on the issue, Mr Cameron was asked by Tory MP Anne McIntosh at PMQs if he would revisit the fuel-stabiliser idea.

Petrol SOS: Retailers have written to Chancellor George Osborne urging him to scrap a proposed 5p duty rise

Mr Cameron said: ‘Yes, the Treasury are looking at this because clearly there is a case for saying that as the oil price rises, if it can be shown the Treasury benefits from extra revenue, there should be a way of sharing that with the motorist who is ­suffering from high prices.’
Under the stabiliser mechanism, fuel duty would be cut when oil prices rise, and increased when they fell.
The rule of thumb adopted by the oil and petroleum industry is that every $2 rise in the oil price results in a 1p rise in the pump price. So if oil rises by $10, a fuel-stabiliser would mean the Government should cut 5p off the fixed-rate duty it levies at the pumps, which is currently 58.95p a litre.
The Conservatives pledged to consider a ‘fair fuel-stabiliser’ before last year’s ­election. However the plan was kicked into the long grass until rising ­petrol prices, including a 1p-a-litre hike in duty and the VAT rise to 20 per cent, led Mr Cameron to revisit the topic last week.
Days later, however, he appeared to backtrack, telling the BBC: ‘I don’t want to raise people’s hopes too far because it is a difficult issue.’
After a series of almost daily increases, unleaded is currently at a record high of £1.28 a litre (£5.82 a gallon). Meanwhile diesel, at £1.32 a litre (over £6 a gallon), is now ‘perilously close’ to the previous record of £1.33 set in July 2008 and will soon surpass it, say retailers.

 

Brian Madderson, of the retail motor industry group RMI Petrol, which represents 6,500 independent filling stations, has written to George Osborne asking him to scrap the ‘escalator’ rise on fuel duty, introduced by Labour, which would see it go up by 1p plus the rate of inflation.

In his letter to the Chancellor, Mr Madderson writes: ‘Our pessimistic outlook is that retail prices are likely to rise by as much as 8p-a-litre by Easter.
‘This would put unleaded petrol at an average of 136p per litre and diesel at an unthinkable 140p per litre. The effect on industry and inflation is self-evident.’
Warning of ‘much more pain in the pipeline’, he said yesterday: ‘It’s time the Chancellor stepped off the fuel tax escalator. The thing about escalators is that when you reach the top, you do get off.’
The Federation of Small Businesses warned that its members were being ‘hard-hit’ ‘at the most fragile of times’ as they struggle in the economic downturn.
And Kate Gibbs, of the Road Haulage ­Association, called the rise ‘little more than another kick in the teeth’.

 

Police condemn Telford Thai boxing club’s ‘knife thug’ poster

Shocking posters put up of a balaclava-wearing, knife-wielding thug urging people to join a Shropshire Thai boxing club or risk being robbed or sexually assaulted have been condemned by police.

The posters, circulated by Telford Thai Boxing, has been branded “irresponsible” by one of the town’s top police officers, who said the crime figures that appeared on the posters were “a complete fabrication”.
It claims there were more than 19,000 reported thefts – 52 a day – and 800 robberies – 14 a week – in Telford from April 2008 to April 2009.
It says: “Worried? You should be” and urges people to act now by learning self-defence before they become a statistic.
But Superintendent Gary Higgins, Telford’s police commander, said: “These posters are irresponsible and could cause unnecessary fear and concern for local residents.
“We will be contacting the Thai Boxing Club to establish who is responsible for producing and distributing the poster and will then discuss its content with them.
“Not only is the image and some of the language used on the poster extremely emotive and without any relevance to the lives of people living locally, but also the figures that the poster quotes on each crime type are completely inaccurate.
“For example, according to the poster, the number of crimes in Telford in 2008-09 was 78,400. This differs enormously from the total number of crimes actually recorded for the same year-long period which stood at 13,137. The poster also claims that there were 800 robberies in Telford in 08/09 yet the actual recorded figure was 133.
“To demonstrate quite how inaccurate the quoted figures are, there were actually only 559 robberies recorded across the West Mercia area as a whole – Shropshire, Telford, Herefordshire and Worcestershire – in 2008-09, so again the figures quote are at best misleading, but at worst are a complete fabrication.”
A spokesman for the boxing club, who did not wish to be named, said the key to the poster was not the figures but raising awareness.
He said: “We are not advocating violence as a means to an end but teaching realistic techniques in a realistic environment.
“Stats mean nothing unless you are, or know, a victim. When you know young adults left scarred for life then you start to want to prevent more people being meaningless numbers on a controversial poster.”

Leafleting Campaign Continues

Shropshire British National Party are continuing their leafleting campaign on the the hidden  Muslim paedophile epidemic in Shropshire as it has effectively been covered up by the national media, and only occasional reports have made it into the local county press.

With the help of our friends from Stoke, descending on the Woodside and Madeley area, we were able to put out over 2500 leaflets in just a few hours.

With a large proportion of Telford and Wrekin already covered by our hard hitting leaflets it is amazing  what we can achieve when we all work together.

It is claimed there are at least 60 victims, all young white females, of Muslim paedophile gangs operating in Shropshire, centred around Telford. A mother of one of the girls interviewed in connection with an attack has told the British National Party.

Police could not speak out about Asian sex gangs for fear of appearing ‘institutionally racist’, a senior officer said.
Mick Gradwell, a former detective superintendent, said the targeting of underage and vulnerable girls had been going on for decades.
He added: ‘You have girls being abused and raped and yet the most senior officers are refusing to comment on it. On what other subject would you get that?

The hypocrisy of the politically correct brigade is truly nauseating. These noisy zealots constantly trumpet their commitment to women’s rights, anti-racism and the protection of the vulnerable.

Yet, suddenly, when confronted with the reality of vicious sexual exploitation of young white girls by Asian men, they drop their supposedly cherished principles.

Instead they either deny the existence of the issue or, even worse, they collude with abusers by attacking those who tell the truth.

In recent days these grotesque double standards have been fully on display in the wake of new evidence about the prevalence of Asian sex gangs within our society.

Clearly, morality should not be inverted by the dogma of political correctness. In this twisted ideological world, it would seem that the hypersensitivities of an ethnic minority are more keenly protected than the rights of abused girls.

The greatest crime is not just the sexual brutality itself but daring to mention the ethnicity of the predators.

To admit the truth would be to admit the failure of Britain’s experiment in multiculturalism. Any difficulties in the creation of the new Britain are entirely the fault of racism among white people. In this narrative of social change, ethnic minorities always have to be cast in a positive light; they can never be seen as the oppressors, only as victims. That is why there has been such a long cover-up over Asian sex crimes. The illusion of multicultural success must be maintained even at the expense of the truth or childhood innocence.

Shropshire BNP would be interested to know if there are any undercover police in our ranks; if so, we would be only too pleased to show them the state of our country from our point of view, and perhaps we may finally get police who don't throw our general election candidates out of hustings meetings and who arrest paedophiles if they happen to be Muslim.

Muslim husbands with more than one wife to get extra benefits as ministers recognise polygamy

UK: Husbands living in a "harem" with multiple wives have been cleared to claim state benefits for all their different partners.

A Muslim man with four spouses - which is permitted under Islamic law - could receive £10,000 a year in income support alone.

He could also be entitled to more generous housing and council tax benefit, to reflect the fact his household needs a bigger property.

Ministers have decided that, even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, polygamous marriages can be recognised formally by the state - provided they took place overseas, in countries where they are legal.

The outcome will chiefly benefit Muslim men with more than one wife.

Ministers estimate that up to a thousand polygamous partnerships exist in Britain, although they admit there is no exact record.

Potentially, the benefits bill for income support could reach £10m.

New guidelines on income support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) state: "Where there is a valid polygamous marriage the claimant and one spouse will be paid the couple rate (£92.80).

"The amount payable for each additional spouse is presently £33.65."

Income support for all of the wives may be paid directly into the husband's bank account, if the family so choose.

Chris Grayling, the shadow work and pensions secretary, said that the decision was "completely unjustifiable".

He added: "You are not allowed to have multiple marriages in the UK, so to have a situation where the benefits system is treating people in different ways is totally unacceptable and will serve to undermine confidence in the system.

"This sets a precedent that will lead to more demands for the culture of other countries to be reflected in UK law and the benefits system."

Mr Grayling also accused the Government of trying to keep the ruling quiet because the topic is so controversial.

Corin Taylor, research director for the Taxpayers' Alliance, said: "British taxpayers are paying a record amount of tax so the Government has a duty to make sure that every penny is spent properly.

"Polygamy is not something which British law allows and therefore British taxpayers should not have to pay for extra benefits for second or third wives.

"If other countries sanction polygamy that is fine but the British taxpayer should not have to fund it."

Ministers launched a review of the benefit rules for polygamous marriages in November 2006, after it emerged that some families had benefited financially.

The review concluded in December last year with agreement that the extra benefits should continue to be paid. But the decision was not publicly announced.

Four departments - the Treasury, the DWP, HM Revenue and Customs, and the Home Office - were involved in the review, which concluded that recognising multiple marriages conducted overseas was 'the best possible' option. In Britain, bigamy is punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Islamic law permits men to have up to four wives at any one time - known as a harem - provided the husband spends equal amounts of time and money on each of them.

The DWP believes the number of people in polygamous marriages entering Britain has fallen since the 1988 Immigration Act, which makes it harder to bring more than one wife to the UK.

But, while a married man cannot obtain a spouse visa to bring a second wife into Britain, some multiple partners may be able to enter the country via other legal routes such as tourist visas, student visas or work permits.

Officials have also identified a potential loophole by which a man can divorce his wife under British law while continuing to live with her as his spouse under Islamic law, and obtain a spouse visa for a foreign woman who he can legally marry.

Immigration rules say entry clearance may not be withheld from a second wife where the husband has divorced his previous wife, and the divorce is thought to be one of convenience.

This is so, even if the husband is still living with the previous wife and to issue the entry clearance would lead to the formation of a polygamous household.
 
Muslim couples are only married in the eyes of the British state if they undergo a register office wedding as well as a Nikah, or religious ceremony.

Muslim groups say it is quite common for men here to undergo more than one Nikah with different wives. This does not count as bigamy since only the first marriage is legally recognised.

A DWP spokesman said: 'There are fewer than 1,000 polygamous marriages in the UK and only a small percentage of these are claiming social security benefit.

"We recently reviewed the rules regarding benefit payments to customers in a polygamous marriage, which conclude that the rules in place since 1987 provide the necessary safeguards to ensure there is no financial advantage for claimants in a valid polygamous marriage."

Scathing: John Glen's complaints prompted accusations of sour grapes

A new Tory MP has made a scathing attack on David Cameron for pro­moting women and people from the ethnic minorities over ‘white, Christian, married’ men.
John Glen, the party’s former head of research, said his background effectively ruled him out for a min­isterial job under Mr Cameron.
He said: ‘I don’t anticipate any early calls to Government. I’m a white, Christian, married bloke from the Home Counties so I probably don’t fit the description of what the leadership wants at the moment.’
The Salisbury MP, one of 147 new Tory MPs elected in May, should on paper be a potential high-flier in the Commons after running the respected Conservative Research Department following the 2005 General Election.
Previous Tory research chiefs who have gone on to top posts include Andrew Lansley, now the Health Secretary, and Chris Patten, who served as Conservative Party Chairman under John Major’s Government.
Mr Glen, 36, also accused Mr Cameron of ‘vetoing’ his bid to be Tory ­candidate three years ago and complained how he was initially left off the party’s controversial ‘A-list’ of fast-tracked candidates. And the Oxford-educated MP appeared to lash out at new Tory colleagues trying too hard to get noticed and ‘racing around and annoying everyone’.
Mr Glen said: ‘What is important is that you don’t lose your soul along the way. I’d rather be a damn good constituency MP and be known to speak the truth than someone who has got on the ladder too soon and is not experienced or able enough to deal with the pressure. I’ve noticed some colleagues out to make a name for themselves.’
His remarks, in an article for the Commons in-house journal The House Magazine, will revive the rows over Mr Cameron’s determination to rebrand his party by fast-tracking women and ethnic-minority parliamentary candidates over traditional Tory ‘pin-striped’ men prior to May’s General Election.
It led to the famous ‘Turnip Taliban’ revolt when Tories in South-West ­Norfolk unsuccessfully tried to ­deselect candidate Liz Truss over her failure to declare an earlier affair with married Tory MP Mark Field.

Plans: Lib Dem Lynne Featherstone says all public staff should be sent a questionnaire about their sexuality

Millions of teachers, nurses and policemen could be asked to disclose their sexuality, religion and race as part of a new Coalition equality drive.
Lib Dem equalities minister Lynne Featherstone says all public sector organisations should consider sending ‘diversity monitoring forms’ to staff to prove they are treating all sections of society fairly.
From April, public bodies will be subject to the Equality Act – passed by Labour but taken up enthusiastically by the Coalition – which will force them to consider the impact of everything they do on the diversity of the people they serve or employ.
Miss Featherstone supports sending staff a questionnaire about their sexuality and even whether they have had a sex change.
Her plans are suggested in a guide to how public bodies should comply with the Act. Critics fear it will lead to an avalanche of bureaucracy and expense just as jobs are under threat and budgets are slashed.
One example given in the document is banning police from imposing height restrictions because they may be discriminatory to women.
It also says that complying with the equality duty ‘may involve treating some people better than others, as far as this is allowed by discrimination law’.

ONE IN 7 ASYLUM SEEKERS ON RUN

BRITAIN’S border chiefs have been slammed in a scathing report today which reveals how one in seven asylum seekers has gone missing.

A programme to clear the backlog of 450,000 asylum cases will end this summer with at least 61,000 applicants unaccounted for, MPs found.

And the UK Border Agency has even marked such cases “concluded” having decided it is pointless trying to pursue them. There is also a “real danger” of a secondary backlog building up because the UKBA is unable to deal with new applications quickly enough.

Angry MPs on the Home Affairs select committee are now demanding the salary of the agency’s £208,000-a-year chief executive is slashed by a third and for senior staff bonuses to be blocked. Alp Mehmet, of MigrationWatch, said last night: “This figure of 61,000 missing refugees is a clear indication of the mess the former government got us into through its inaction.

“It is incumbent on the coalition to deal with it rather than brush it under the carpet.”

The MPs’ investigation found widespread evidence of delays and backlogs in processing asylum cases, which gave applicants a greater chance of blocking their deportation by getting married or having children.

Committee chairman Keith Vaz blamed “poor quality decision-making”, adding: “The UKBA has made some progress over the last few years in relation to new procedures but is still failing to meet expectations.”

He went on to say “more consistent and rigorous scrutiny of applications” would lead to fewer delays and lower costs for the taxpayer.

In 2006, it emerged that the Home Office had a backlog of up to 450,000 unresolved asylum cases, dating back more than a decade. The UKBA said it aimed to clear these cases by July 2011.

All of this is in keeping with the far-reaching plans of this particular ethnic “out group”, and has been sometimes referred to as the “Long March”.
The Out Group, who maintains a sense of racial cohesiveness hitherto unknown among even the most tightly-knit of all dispersed human peoples, maintains a grip on the press and electronic media that is nearly monopolistic in its all-encompassing reach. This is facilitated by decades of brainwashing, beginning in early school years, portraying Whites not as the builders of a great civilization, or the admirable leaders of the Free World, but in a lopsided, entirely slanted way as oppressors, enslavers, genocidal “Nazis”, southern Klansmen, imperialistic Colonials, and toothless hillbillies just itching for a chance to lynch the first colored individual that comes along. Families hit as fuel and food costs soar (... and energy bill could DOUBLE every five years)

Millions of hard-pressed families are being further squeezed by punishing rises in fuel bills and food prices.
Energy giant E.ON yesterday announced a price increase as experts warned that bills are set to double every five years.
The German-owned supplier will put up electricity tariffs by 9 per cent and gas by 3 per cent – adding an average of £62 to annual dual fuel bills for 4.3million customers.

At the same time, figures from the British Retail Consortium show that food prices are continuing to rise at double the pace of wages.
Annual food inflation in December was 4 per cent compared to a rise of 2 per cent in incomes last year.

This means a family spending £100 a week on food a year ago will have to find an extra £208 a year to put meals on the table.
The increases in the cost of living come as the country struggles to emerge from recession.
Petrol prices are also running around 20 per cent higher than a year ago, while rail fares leapt this month.
The pain is further compounded by the Government’s VAT increase to 20 per cent.
Consumers have been warned by City analysts that the energy price increases are just a taste of things to come.
Experts at Unicredit banks said the switch to green generation, the building of wind farms and nuclear power stations, as well as the installation of smart meters in every home, will send bills rocketing.

They concluded: ‘A typical UK energy bill could rise from the current level of £1,000 per year to over £2,000 per year by 2015.

This is where more than 10 per cent of disposable income is spent on heat and light.

E.ON is the latest of the ‘big six’ suppliers to impose inflation-busting price rises.
However, unlike rivals such as British Gas, Scottish & Southern Energy and Scottish Power, it did offer to delay the rise until after the recent big freeze. The rise comes into effect on February 4.
Ann Robinson, of price comparison website uSwitch.com, described it as ‘another blow to households financially limping into 2011’.

uSwitch said that E.ON’s average annual dual fuel bill will rise from £1,187 to £1,249. Energy firms say they have no choice and they are simply passing on increases in wholesale prices.
However, figures from TheEnergyShop.com suggest the margin between what they pay for gas against the price charged to customers has risen by more than 200 per cent since 2008.
Increases in grocery bills would have been even bigger but for price cut promotions by supermarkets, according to the BRC.
Director general Stephen Robertson said: ‘Retailers know customers are worried about jobs and personal finances.
‘The competitive retail environment will mean stores go on doing all they can to limit price rises. But a string of costs are higher than a year ago.
‘Extreme weather and poor harvests have driven coffee up 52 per cent, wheat 45 per cent and soya beans 38 per cent yet the shop price of food is up only 4 per cent.’
He warned of further price rises, adding: ‘Next month’s figures will show the initial impact of the latest VAT increase.’

‘How many young girls have been abused and raped because of the reluctance of the authorities to say exactly what is happening?’
Mr Gradwell spoke out following a trial in Derby which resulted in Abid Saddique, 27, and Mohammed Liaqat, 28, being jailed for a total of 19 years last week after targeting underage girls.
His warning also follows the arrests of a gang of Asian men over claims they plied 14 white girls with drink and drugs before turning them into sex slaves in Rochdale, near Manchester.
In the aftermath of these cases, former home secretary Jack Straw prompted controversy when he described some of the victims as ‘easy meat’ for gangs – often made up of Pakistani men – who trawl the streets looking for sex.
The vulnerable girls in Rochdale – some as young as 13 – say they were forced to work the streets as prostitutes and hand over money to the gang.
The nine men, eight of them Asian, were questioned by detectives after officers swooped on a number of addresses.

The arrests took place shortly before Christmas and were the result of a major inquiry into the sexual exploitation of teenage girls by men since 2008.
Mr Gradwell added: ‘When I joined in 1979 one of my first tasks was to police around a Blackburn nightclub where one of the issues was Asian men cruising around in BMWs and Mercs trying to pick up young drunken girls.
‘The main pressure police have is being called institutionally racist if they highlight a crime trend like this.
‘There’s a fantastic reluctance to be absolutely straight because some people may take such offence.’
The comments come just days after a nationwide investigation was launched following a string of disturbing cases.
The two sexual predators convicted in Derby, Saddique and Liaqat – both British-born fathers of Pakistani origin – cruised the streets in either a Range Rover or a BMW looking for vulnerable young girls.
The victims were ‘chatted up’ at the roadside and invited to go for drives in the car where they were plied with vodka or cocaine before being taken to hotel rooms, parks or houses to be sexually abused.

Asylum seekers win damages rights

Failed asylum seekers have won the right to claim damages which could run into thousands of pounds after the High Court ruled three young children were held at an immigration detention centre unlawfully.

The ruling was a legal victory for the mothers - Reetha Suppiah, 37, a Malaysian nurse, and Sakinat Bello, 25, a Nigerian national - who brought the legal challenge.
Both said a lack of safeguards at Yarl's Wood in Bedfordshire, the UK's main removal centre for women and minors, led to their children suffering distress and trauma.
Mr Justice Wyn Williams, sitting in London, ruled the Government's current policy on detaining families with children pending deportation was not unlawful, but - in Tuesday's cases - it had not been applied by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) "with the rigour it deserves".
As a result "the claimants were detained unlawfully from the time they were taken into custody until their release" and they were entitled to claim damages.
The judge said: "The cases of the two families involved in this litigation provide good examples of the failure by UKBA to apply important aspects of the policy, both when the decisions were taken to detain each family and when decisions were taken to maintain detention after removal directions had been cancelled."
The judge declared the families' rights to private and family life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights had been breached, along with their Article 5 right to liberty.
But he rejected claims that their right not to be subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment had been infringed.
The mothers' application for judicial review was heard last October but judgment was not given until Tuesday.
In December, following a lengthy review, the Government announced the immediate closure of the family section at Yarl's Wood.

British taxpayers to fork out millions more in benefits for EU migrants

Taxpayers face paying millions of pounds in extra benefits to Eastern European immigrants because of changes to EU regulations.
For the past seven years, immigrants from eight countries due to become full members of the EU were banned from claiming benefits in the UK until they had worked here for 12 months.
But from April 2011, immigrants from Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic – where income levels are 40 per cent of the European average – will be allowed to claim Jobseekers’ Allowance and other benefits after just three months.

This is provided they can prove that they have been actively seeking work, undergone training or attended job interviews.
Unlike many other European nations which closed their labour markets to the so-called Accession Eight countries, Britain has allowed their nationals to work here.
This was on condition that they abided by the Government’s Worker Registration Scheme, which denied them benefits for a year.
But the scheme runs out next spring because seven years is the maximum transition period under EU law and no extension can be granted.
It means Eastern European immigrants entering Britain will be subject to the same benefits rules as they are in established EU countries like France and Germany.
Although there are no official Government figures, the latest academic surveys suggest there are now 1.2 million Eastern European nationals living in Britain.
Most former Soviet bloc countries pay lower unemployment benefits than Britain. In Latvia, the monthly unemployment allowance is £57.20 compared with the UK’s £200-£256.
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of MigrationWatch UK, said last night: ‘Now is the time to engage the EU in a renegotiation of the welfare arrangements to ensure that we do not face a wave of benefit shoppers when these countries become full members.

THE hypocrisy of the politically correct brigade is truly nauseating. These noisy zealots constantly trumpet their commitment to women’s rights, anti-racism and the protection of the vulnerable.

Yet, suddenly, when confronted with the reality of vicious sexual exploitation of young white girls by Asian men, they drop their supposedly cherished principles.

Instead they either deny the existence of the issue or, even worse, they collude with abusers by attacking those who tell the truth.

In recent days these grotesque double standards have been fully on display in the wake of new evidence about the prevalence of Asian sex gangs within our society.

Last week two Muslim men from Derby, Mohammed Liaqat and Abid Saddique, were jailed for raping several young girls after plying them with drugs and alcohol. The conviction of these two vile predators came on top of a new report from the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science, which warned of the growing incidence of this kind of systematic abuse by Pakistani offenders.

Another study last week, based on an analysis of 17 major prosecutions since 1997 for grooming and sexual exploitation of girls aged 11 to 16, showed that of the 56 men found guilty, 53 were Asian.

Responding to these revelations, the former Home Secretary Jack Straw abandoned the usual conspiracy of denial from the political establishment. In refreshingly frank language, he told the BBC that there was a “specific problem” with some Pakistani men who prey on young white girls because “they think they are easy meat”.

Predictably, Straw’s comments caused a huge storm. Muslim groups called his views “deeply offensive” while MP Keith Vaz said the remarks were “pretty dangerous”. The chief executive of the children’s charity Barnardo’s Martin Narey warned in handwringing tones about the potential stereotyping of Pakistani men.

Clearly, morality should not be inverted by the dogma of political correctness. In this twisted ideological world, it would seem that the hypersensitivities of an ethnic minority are more keenly protected than the rights of abused girls.

The greatest crime is not the sexual brutality itself but daring to mention the ethnicity of the predators.

It is fascinating to contrast this institutionalised eagerness to dissemble and deny with the almost celebratory glee that drove the coverage of the child abuse scandal in the Catholic church.

It was absolutely right that a fierce light was shone on this culture of exploitation, which inflicted such suffering on the innocent and was the very antithesis of the Christian doctrine of compassion, yet the media and the political elite have shamefully failed to adopt the same vigorous approach towards Asian sex gangs.

To admit the truth would be to admit the failure of Britain’s experiment in multiculturalism. Any difficulties in the creation of the new Britain are entirely the fault of racism among white people. In this narrative of social change, ethnic minorities always have to be cast in a positive light; they can never be seen as the oppressors, only as victims. That is why there has been such a long cover-up over Asian sex crimes. The illusion of multicultural success must be maintained even at the expense of the truth or childhood innocence.

The same is true of reluctance to have an honest debate about forced marriages, or Islamic extremism, or knife crime or gang warfare.

As one mother of an abused girl from Blackburn said: “People are scared it will start a race riot but it is this perception of racism that is putting up a barrier.”

One indicator of this craven mentality from our civic leaders was the decision by the West Yorkshire police in 2004 to demand that Channel 4 postpone the screening of a documentary that highlighted the incidence of Asian grooming of white girls in Bradford.

But the sheer scale of the problem means that the establishment can no longer keep it a dirty secret. It is absurd to pretend that this has nothing to do with Islam. Only the politically blinkered refuse to see that Muslim culture promotes aggressive misogyny against women, who are often treated as little more than chattels.

Muslim men’s attitude towards women outside the faith can be even more contemptuous since they are regarded as
infidels devoid of any morality.

One white woman from Bradford who was repeatedly raped by a Muslim pimp recalled: “He told me I was making him do it because I was sinful, not a true believer, that he would not do it if I was a Muslim.”

It is a tragedy that the cultural values of Pakistan, one of most hellish societies on earth, should have been imported wholesale into our nation.

Jack Straw, who is the MP for Blackburn, might have been robust in language last weekend but we should remember that he was the key figure for 13 years in a Labour government that tore apart the fabric of Britain through its ideological enthusiasm for mass immigration.

It is thanks to Straw and his cronies that parts of our urban landscape now resemble Islamabad, complete with burqas, Sharia law, political corruption and oppression of women. They sowed the wind and we are reaping the whirlwind.

An asylum seeker who claimed she had been gang-raped in Somalia has been jailed for swindling more than £250,000 in a "professionally planned" benefits scam.

Amina Muse, 38, also conned Swedish authorities out of £50,000, spending the money on luxury living and holidays in Africa. While she claimed asylum in the UK, based on "appalling atrocities" committed against her in Somalia, investigators found she was living in Sweden at the time.

Handing her a four-and-a-half-year prison term at Harrow Crown Court in north London, Judge Stephen Holt told her: "One of the most serious aspects of this case is your cynical, dishonest manipulation of the whole system of asylum."

Muse, a mother-of-six who also went by the name of Ayan Abdulle, sought refuge in Britain after moving to Sweden in 1995 where she was granted citizenship and enjoyed a "comfortable" life.

On her UK asylum application, she claimed militiamen stormed and looted her family home in war-torn Somalia on December 1, 1998 because she was a member of a minority group.

"They opened fire at us and then broke into our house by force," she said. "They shot dead my brothers Asad and Burhan. They died instantly in our presence."

But investigators, who suspect Muse to be of Kenyan descent, found this to be the date on which she gave birth to a child in Sweden.

Between June 2004 and May 2010, Muse, from North Circular Road, Neasden, north-west London, claimed a total of £261,358.14 in income support, disability living allowance for one of her children and a carer's allowance for herself. This included child benefit, child tax credits and housing benefit from various local authorities. She received a total of £112,985.51 from the borough of Camden, where she lived in a four-bedroom property.

Condemning her deceit, Judge Holt said: "You applied for asylum in this country and in your long statement for asylum, you set out appalling atrocities that had happened to yourself and your immediate family, including murder and rape of some of your nearest and dearest during the time when you were living comfort in Sweden at the expense of the Swedish taxpayer. That document was entirely false."

Muse denied obtaining money transfers by deception, fraud by false representation, 12 counts of making false representations, four counts of receiving overpayments of benefits and five counts of fraud.
