"Too often today, people are ready to tell us,
'this is not possible; that is not possible'.
I say, whatever the true interest of our country calls for, is always possible!"

And a happy New Year from the taxman: VAT hike set to leave families £158 worse off

Families will have to dig even deeper in 2011 as the VAT increase will add an average of £158 to household bills.
The increase from 17.5 per cent to 20 per cent, which comes in next Tuesday, will force up spending across the board - including essentials like water and electricity.
Most food is exempt, but it is payable on grocery items such as toothpaste and cleaning products, as well as sweets, drinks and snacks.
Big ticket items — such as televisions and washing machines — will become significantly more expensive.

The extra VAT would add £425 to a new £20,000 car, £106 to a £5,000 kitchen and £16 to a £750 TV.
Households will also be hit by a forgotten rise in Insurance Premium Tax — charged across all insurance products.
This will rise from 5 per cent to 6 per cent, adding £2.09 to the average buildings insurance policy and £1.11 to contents a year. Car insurance will also rise.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at price comparison website uSwitch.com, said: 'Consumers can now put a value on what the VAT increase will mean for them and it‟s clear that the impact is going to spread far wider than just shoppers.
'Every single household will be affected in one way or another. Cutting back on luxuries is old news – now people need to cut their essentials.
'Following the joys of Christmas, consumers are going to be bought back to reality with a crash on January 4 as they see their bills go up.
'The good news is that there are ways to off-set this. The New Year‟s resolution on everyone‟s lips in 2011 should be to become more savvy and take better control of household finances.'

The Hidden Genocide Continues

Wilemien_PotgierIgnored by the media and hidden from the world, which was encouraged to delight in the lovable Vuvuzela tooting black South Africans during the recent World Cup matches, the violent, racist, genocide of that country's white population continues apace.

It is estimated that at least 35,000 whites have been murdered in South Africa since the end of Apartheid in 1994.  Of these, at least 3,131 are white South African farmers and their families, some reports put the figure as high as 3,700, with the result that being a white South African farmer is now statistically the most dangerous occupation on the planet.
Potgier_family
Two particularly shocking attacks occurred in one day this week leaving four victims dead. The first being the murder of the Potgieter family at their farm in Lindley a small town situated on the banks of the Vals River in the eastern Free State which was established by an American Presbyterian missionary named Daniel Lindley, who was the first ordained minister to the Voortrekkers in Natal.

There are varying reports as to how 40 year old Attie Potgieger died, initial reports stated he was attacked with a machete however, it now appears he may have been shot. All reports confirm however that his wife Wilna and the couple's three year old daughter Willemein, pictured above at a slightly earlier age, were dispatched, execution style, with bullets to the back of the head. It chills the blood to imagine what sort of mind can murder a three year old child in such a manner.

Also chilling is the note left behind by the Potieger family's killers which simply stated “We have killed them. We are coming back”.

Mercifully, no reports have so far indicated that the family were tortured prior to their murder, which is so often the case with such crimes. However, the South African police are notorious for suppressing such information in their efforts to portray these attacks as being crime related, rather than the hate infused genocide which they clearly are.

Unusually, given that most to the farm murders go unsolved, six people have been arrested, three  of whom are apparently workers on Attie and Wilna Potgieger's farm.
MarthieErasmusMarthie Erasmus, killed with a sledgehammer
Meanwhile, on the same day Thursday December 2nd, in Koster, the centre of South Africa's maze production, situated in the North West Province, a group of armed black males attacked an Afrikaans farm couple on the farm Hartbeesfontein, in the Moedwil district of Koster. Mrs Marthie Erasmus, 63, was tied up on her bed and then the gang bludgeoned the defenceless woman to death with a 16 pound sledgehammer - for no apparent reason.
Husband Chris Erasmus, also 63, was tied to his chair and brutally beaten about the face and eyes. However he survived the attack and managed to free himself after the attackers fled.
If this was happening to any other race in any other country it would be world news. Because these are the white victims of black hate in the "Rainbow nation" the world does not want to know (or maybe it does not want you to know).

How a public schoolgirl, 14, fell into the clutches of predatory gangs who forced her to become a sex slave

A girl who was abducted at the age of 14 and forced to work as a sex slave was yesterday praised for giving evidence which saw her abusers jailed.
The privately-educated teenager was picked up and plied with vodka and drugs, passed around groups of older men for sex and then forced to work as a prostitute.
Her ordeal highlights previously-aired fears that white schoolgirls are being groomed for underage sex by gangs of Asian men in northern England.
Former Labour MP Ann Cryer provoked a storm when she warned that the practice of arranged marriages helped tempt a criminal minority of Asian men into targeting young, white girls for sex.
After nine men were jailed over the sustained sexual abuse of their victim, Superintendent Paul Savill of Greater Manchester Police commended her bravery and said: 'This young girl has been through an absolutely horrifying ordeal.
'The level of abuse she has suffered is almost beyond belief. She has been treated like a commodity - beaten, threatened and sexually exploited.'
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was adopted as a baby by a professional, middle-class couple in Greater Manchester and educated at a private school.
She was removed from the school for exhibiting 'inappropriate sexualised behaviour toward male pupils', a court  heard, and after she twice ran away from home her adoptive parents reluctantly agreed that she be placed in care.
In February 2008 she was picked up in Rochdale by Asad Hassan, 27, who took her to a nightclub.
He and his friends Mohammed Basharat, 27, and Mohammed Atif, 28, then took her to a house where she was given vodka before all three men had sex with her.
The next morning, Hassan, who had given her his phone number, dropped her at a bus station and gave her cigarettes and money, but after being found by her mother she was taken back to the care home.
A week later she went missing again. She met restaurant worker Abdul Rob, 33, in Rochdale and he took her back to a flat where he gave her alcohol before having sex with her.
The following morning she rang Hassan - her initial abuser - and met him, Basharat and Atif who again all had sex with her.
She was then taken to another house in the Rochdale area where she was also abused by a group of men whom police have been unable to trace.

The next day, as police hunted for her, the girl took a bus to Manchester and drifted to the city's 'Curry Mile' in Rusholme, where she met Aftab Khan, 30, described by police as a 'nasty, exploitative individual'.
Khan, who was acquitted two years ago of having sex with an underage girl, lured her back to his house, gave her alcohol, cocaine and cannabis and offered her a bed for the night.
But between 3am and 4am Khan woke the youngster and told her: 'You're working for me now.'
He stabbed a door with a kitchen knife and threatened to harm her unless she complied.

Khan then forced her to work for five nights as a prostitute in Manchester.
The girl drank huge amounts of alcohol to blot out her ordeal and even tried to avoid wearing makeup to make herself look too young for sex, but her ploy failed.
On February 28 last year plain-clothed police officers patrolling the area stopped and questioned the girl as she looked for clients but, fearing Khan, she gave a false name and said she was 16.

The officers took the girl to a bus station so that she could go home. But she returned to Khan, who began to 'tout her round' groups of men, boasting that he had a girl who was available for sex.

MP WHO DREW LINK WITH ASIAN CULTURE... AND PROVOKED A STORM

When Labour MP Ann Cryer blamed traditional Asian culture for a 'sex ring' dragging white schoolgirls into prostitution, her comments provoked a fierce debate.
She spoke out in 2003 over claims of organised sexual abuse in her West Yorkshire constituency of Keighley, controversially suggesting the problem had to be seen in racial terms.
'I am merely pointing out fact in saying that all the victims of these terrible crimes are white girls and all the alleged perpetrators are Asian men,' she said.
'That is a significant fact and needs to be addressed.'
In her view, young Asian men in traditional communities were unable to pursue casual relationships in the manner of their white peers because they were tied to arranged marriages.
Caught between two cultures, a small number were tempted to target vulnerable young girls, she said.
She was criticised by Muslim community activists, and a subsequent Channel 4 documentary focusing on the problem was pulled amid fears that it would hand political ammunition to the BNP.
Nevertheless mothers in areas with large Asian populations have continued to complain that the authorities have failed to tackle similar abuse.
Last year three Asian men from Keighley were jailed for grooming a vulnerable 14-year-old girl for sex.
Yesterday Mrs Cryer, who stepped down at the last election, said she believed the case had deterred others from perpetrating similar abuse.
She added: 'There are similarities with the case in Greater Manchester, and I very much hope that the same problem does not happen there as well.'
He took her to a block of flats in Hulme where Mohammed Anwar Safi, 30, Ahmed Noorzai, 28, and Mohammed Khan, 25, were waiting.
Safi and Noorzai had sex with her but Mohammed Khan, who paid the money, said he thought she was 'too young'.
The following day the officers who had stopped the girl recognised her from a missing person appeal and suspected that Khan was holding her.
But by the time they got to his home, he had been tipped off and had sent the girl away with £5.
She returned to Rusholme where she met Najibullah Safi, 32, who plied her with drink and drugs before having sex with her. Her ordeal finally ended when she left Safi's house and approached an Asian couple in a car.
Safi tried to drag her away but the woman passenger heard the girl claim she had been raped, and police were called.
In total she is thought to have fallen victim to at least three predatory gangs.
Campaigners say many similar cases go unpunished because the victims refuse to make formal complaints.
However the 14-year-old bravely identified her abusers and gave compelling evidence against them in court, and now nine have been jailed for a variety of offences.
Aftab Khan was jailed for seven years and his friend Abid Khaliq for eight months; Najibullah Safi, Atif, Hassan and Basharat for two years; Mohammed Khan for four years; Mohammed Anwar Safi for 31 months and Noorzai for four years.
In the final case at Manchester Crown Court this week, a judge ordered Rob to be found not guilty after accepting he could reasonably have believed the girl's claims to be over 16.
Yesterday the victim, now 17, condemned her abusers.
'These people exploit young girls,' she said.
'They feed them drugs and alcohol and tell them they love them.
'i know because it happened to me and it has changed my life enormously.'
Martin Narey of Barnardo's said his charity worked with at least 1,000 vulnerable girls a year who had been preyed on in this way.
But he said said there was no evidence of a racial element to such abuse.
'Those who exploit children in this awful way come from all races,' he added.

Hook girl busted in burqa at Belmarsh

The daughter-in-law of hate cleric Abu Hamza was arrested at his jail for allegedly trying to smuggle in a sim card under her burka.
Guards rumbled Chayme, 26, in a routine search as she went to visit the hate preacher.

Hamza's eldest son Mohamed Kamel Mostafa was also nicked over the contraband the next day. The find raised fears that hook-handed Hamza has access to a mobile in prison where he is awaiting a US bid to ext-radite him for allegedly running terrorist training camps.

The tiny microchip was found in a pocket in clothing under her flowing black robes at Belmarsh Jail in Woolwich, South-East London, last Friday afternoon.

Police were called and she was taken to nearby Plumstead nick. She is said to have become agitated after police demanded she remove her veil for a custody photo. One source said: "She felt it was a violation of her rights as a Muslim woman to have her mugshot taken.

"It was explained that she had to comply with the law and she finally agreed to it."

Chayme claimed she didn't realise she had the sim card, sources said. But a prison insider said: "There are clear orders on signs in the visiting area that nobody should carry through any items."

Mostafa, 29, was arrested after voluntarily agreeing to attend Plumstead police station. The pair have been bailed until February pending further inquiries.

Father-of-eight Hamza, 50, was jailed for seven years in 2004 for soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred.

He completed the sentence but is still being held in the secure unit pending a European Court of Law decision to extradite him to America.

A security source said: "The very idea of Hamza having access to the outside world while in prison has to be a serious concern."

Top Gear stars cause religious row after dressing up in burkas on Boxing Day special

Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear co-stars have sparked religious outrage after dressing up in burkas on the Boxing Day special.
Clarkson and Richard Hammond decided to dress in niqabs, a form of the burka where everything but the eyes are covered, in order to disguise themselves on the road.
They also got James May in on the act when they greeted him from hospital after he fell and hit his head on rocks in the Syrian desert.

But their joke backfired after they were slammed by Muslims for mocking their religion.
Islamic extremist Anjem Choudary, said: 'The burka is a symbol of our religion and people should not make jokes about it in any way.

'It would have been equally bad even if they’d not been in a country mainly populated by Muslims.'
On the Boxing Day episode of the show, the trio were driving across the Middle East to follow the path of the Three Wise Men.

In the episode, which was watched by six million people, they drove specially customised sports cars to Bethlehem via Turkey, Syria and Jordan.
While in Syria, their cars got stuck in the sand and as Clarkson was trying to tow Hammond out, May, who was holding the rope between the two cars, was knocked to the ground when it went taut, cutting open his head in the process.
With blood pouring from his head, he was taken to hospital and Clarkson and Hammond carried on when they had an idea to disguise themselves as women in burkas so not to be seen diverting from the sands of the desert to a road.

They then greet May from hospital dressed head to toe in niqabs before hitting the road again.
But their choice of attire caused a storm online on Twitter and other discussion sites.
On the Yahoo! forum, someone wrote, 'Death to America', which another, called Rebecca Liberty, said mocking burkas is 'ugly'.
But a user called BussW spoke up for the show and said: 'Why are so many people offended. it's just a piece a clothing. the Burka is not in the Quaran at all. if people are so offended why dont they switch over the TV?'
Some viewers also took to Twitter to blast the burka stunt with one saying: This is probably the worst top gear special. Y the f*** r they wearing burkas!!?’
Western attire: As the trip usually look on the BBC Two show

Another added: 'Top gear – the burka joke wasn’t funny.'
But one Tweeter user came to the show's defence and wrote: 'Top gear was one of the best bits of tv this Christmas, if you don't like it . TURN IT OFF!!! Don't go on tv and moan about it.'
Last night the BBC said it had not yet assessed viewer reaction and a spokesman for the show would not comment.
This is not the first time Clarkson has caused a storm over a burka. In July this year he told Top Gear viewers that he had seen a Muslim woman wearing saucy underwear beneath her gown.

The Truth About Our Pensioners

Shropshire British National Party organisers along with other local members and supporters have been checking on elderly neighbours during this bout of exceptionally cold weather.

We urge all readers of this blog to check on the wellbeing of pensioners in their own area.

However, what we really want to hear about are stories from elderly folk, their family or their carers regarding what it is really like to be on a state pension under today's Labour/Tory/Lib-Dem regime.

The British National Party believes that we don't hear the full truth from our government - please come forward and tell it like it is. Enter your details in the boxes to the right of this webpage and one of our friendly local organisers will contact you.

Today's pensioners are the ones who have paid in to Britain, only to be treated unfairly by our out of touch political masters.

Help us to shame our government into providing a decent pension so elderly British men and women can afford to heat their homes and live in comfort.

Police still going easy on Muslim 'grooming' gangs

22ND DECEMBER 2010: ONE of the recurring themes of letters to Nick Griffin's Constituency Office concerns the 'grooming' young British girls by Muslim men.
Ever since the British National Party's famous General Election broadcast on grooming - with Channel 4's ridiculous censorship only helping to highlight the subject - Nick Griffin has been seen as the only elected politician prepared to tackle issue.
Yet another letter on grooming arrived last week and this is what a distraught mother had to say:
"I have four teenage daughters and we were the only white family in around neighbouring seven streets.
I have always regarded myself as open-minded and have even been a defender of the Muslim community, but now my opinion has changed
We were all, myself included, targeted by Muslim men of all ages, but mostly groups of young men, in cars and asked for sex. The first time we called the police, and the second. My 14 year old was stopped while on her way to school at 8.30 cutting through the car park of our local hospital, and we called the police. We were told there was not enough evidence and no crime had been committed even though she took the car number on her phone.
On one occasion my 19 year old had her younger brother and two younger cousin at the park on a Saturday afternoon. She looks very young and could then have been mistaken for 14 or 15, she was approached for sex by a group of Muslim men, she told them to go away and one produced a knife. She called the police and when they arrived she pointed out the group. They had no fear and did not go to run off they were so sure of themselves. The park was full at the time and she felt it safer to stay near a crowd. The police went to them and talked to them then came back. The group denied having a knife and said that my daughter and the boys had been calling them racist name. They did not search them, just walked my daughter home.
Now we have been forced to move from our home and the town where our families have their roots, because the authorities refuse to believe what is happening. No politician wants to know, they just try to claim that it is just young Muslims being led on by out-of-control girls.
These men are not just looking for sex that they cannot get in there own community. It is their complete lack of respect for non-Muslim women leads them to treat White girls this way."
Responding on behalf of Nick Griffin, Constituency Office Manager Tina Wingfield wrote:
"Thank you for your correspondence regarding sexual grooming and Muslim gangs.
I am sorry to hear that your family has been targeted by local gangs, and that the police have failed consistently to investigate your complaints sufficiently.
This is an increasing problem in some areas and all too often the police choose to "turn a blind eye" to sexual grooming crimes - in the interests of protecting community harmony.
Mr Griffin and the British National Party have been campaigning over many years to highlight this issue, and to persuade the police and criminal justice agencies to recognise and confront the problem.
The police seem, however, to be totally cowed by political correctness and are reluctant to take the necessary measures to stop this organised abuse. Their inaction, unfortunately, leaves young and vulnerable white girls exposed to gangs of Muslim youths who evidently have little fear of the law. There are so few prosecutions actually pursued against the perpetrators of grooming offences, that there is effectively no deterrent in force.
Please be assured that Mr Griffin will continue to apply pressure on the police and criminal justice system until they recognise their responsibility to see that justice is effectively served; and appreciate that the interests of public protection must always outweigh concerns about community sensitivities."

BNP Chairman's Christmas Message 2010

Wednesday 22 December 2010

Chairman Nick Griffin MEP Records his Christmas Address

Britain is facing the hardest winter season for decades. Nick Griffin asks you to help a pensioner have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

“Somewhere near you, right now, a pensioner from the war generation could be slipping away from life. The combination of bitter cold and fuel poverty are bringing misery and even premature death to scores of thousands of the elderly of Britain.

“But while it’s easy – and justified – to blame the Government for letting this happen while bailing out corrupt banks and £billions on foreign aid and the global warming scam, we also have to accept personal responsibility.

If a pensioner dies of cold in your street, it is David Cameron’s fault, but it's also yours, because all it could take to save their life is for you to call around and say hello, fix them a warm drink or a hot meal, and check that they have the fire on.”

This is a central point of the Christmas message to British National Party supporters in a recording made by Nick Griffin and Derek Dawson from BNPTV. Nick tells us a bit more about the making of the message:

“Burnley organiser Chris Vanns drove Derek and all his kit up ice and snowbound lanes to my home (the last few miles are only passable with a big 4X4 like Chris has). We picked a sitting room fireside shot and had to do two takes to get it right, because the first was interrupted by a cat jumping on my lap, so there was a grey tail waving around in front of my face.

“The second take went fine though and Derek will be editing it today for release on this website very shortly. I spoke about the key points of 2010, including explaining how the Equality Commissions handling of their botched attack on us led to them having to acknowledge the existence of the indigenous British as an ethnic group within the law and thus entitled to protection under the law.

“The most important part of the message, though, is how we nationalists recognise that the nation is one great extended family. This means that we all share the duty to look after members of our family who, through no fault of their own, are vulnerable and in need. During a winter like this, that in particular means the elderly.

“So I do hope that people will not only watch the message, but also heed the call to keep an eye out for neighbouring pensioners who may be in need of help, and who are certainly likely at least to appreciate a bit of company and a bit of time from a good British National Party neighbour this Christmas.”

An overdraft? That'll be £200 at Lloyds TSB (but only £15 if you're a Muslim)

Many Lloyds TSB customers are being hit with charges of up to £200 a month if they go into the red - while Muslims who use the bank are only being charged £15.
The part-nationalised bank has been accused of religious discrimination over the disparity between overdraft charges on its standard current account and its Islamic account.
The Islamic account was set up by the high street bank to attract Muslim customers by allowing them to keep faithful to their religion.
Sharia law does not permit the payment of interest so the 'typical' Islamic account at Lloyds TSB has been set up without an overdraft facility.
No interest is charged on Islamic accounts, while customers with a normal account are hit with charges of up to £200
Other rules: No interest is charged on Islamic accounts, while customers with a normal account are hit with charges of up to £200
If a Muslim customer who has insufficient funds in the account tries to make a payment, it is blocked and a 'return item fee' is charged.
However, on some Islamic accounts such a payment is authorised and an 'unplanned overdraft fee' of £15 is then levied.
The bank says this is a management fee, not a payment of interest, so does not contradict Sharia law.
Meanwhile, customers with standard current accounts who go into the red by at least £100 without authorisation are hit with an 'unplanned overdraft fee' of £20 a day for a maximum of ten days. This could mean a customer has to pay £200 in one month.
The Islamic account is available to all customers at Lloyds TSB. In theory, anyone who does not need a permanent overdraft facility could switch to this account to avoid being hit by interest charges for going into the red.
The disparity between the two accounts emerged after the bank sent its customers a booklet this month explaining its charges.

VIOLENT NIGHT

HATE-FILLED preacher Anjem Choudary is holding an anti-Christmas protest on Britain’s busiest shopping street.

The nut is heading to London’s Oxford Street on Christmas Eve to try to convert a million “lost souls”.

The ranting cleric will lead disciples in a protest against the “promiscuity and materialism” of Christmas on a day when more than a million shoppers will in the world’s most famous shopping district.

And the Muslim rabble rouser hopes his actions will boost his evil plan to fly the “Black Flag of Sharia” over yet another British institution.

Last night Choudary, 43, said: “Christmas is the complete anathema to Islam. Drunkenness, promiscuity and materialism are just a few of the issues we want to tackle.

“For us these are the ‘Evils of Christmas’. That’s why we are going to hold our latest roadshow in Oxford Street and Regent Street in the heartland of London’s best-known shopping district.

“Abortion, unwanted children, domestic violence and even blasphemy. It all happens at Christmas.

“We will be setting out stalls and marquees. We hope to have a presence of at least 200 Muslims.

“Hopefully around a million people will pass through this area. We will speak to as many of them as possible about the issues concerned.”

He added: “We will be distributing material about Islam. We hope, at a time when the country is in recession and the Government is frittering away money on foreign policy, people will see that Islam offers an alternative to the consumerism of this time of year.

“Islam does away with the need for drugs and alcohol and all the other evils that are synonymous with Christmas.”

Last year Choudary sparked outrage when he proposed a protest march through the repatriation town of Wootton Bassett. The demo was called off after a public outcry.

ANTI-TERROR ARRESTS 'NECESSARY'

Britain's top counter terrorism officer has revealed the arrest of 12 suspects in four cities over fears they were preparing to launch an attack was "absolutely necessary".
Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner John Yates also warned that searches of homes in London, Cardiff, Stoke and Birmingham could take days to complete as police prepare to question the men.

Speaking outside New Scotland Yard, he said: "With the information we have, I believe today's arrests were absolutely necessary in order to keep the public safe.

Twelve men have been arrested in a major national counter-terrorism operation
The 12 suspects, aged between 17 and 28 and at least five of whom are of Bangladeshi origin, were arrested during 5am raids at homes in London, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham and Cardiff.

Police swooped over fears the group were ramping up their activities after months of surveillance and monitoring by counter terrorism officers and colleagues at MI5. Sources said they were investigating if the gang were inspired by al Qaida but played down speculation they may have been planning a Christmas or New Year bomb attack.

Officials also believe the operation was not linked to the recent failed Stockholm suicide bombing or the Yemen al Qaida printer bomb plot and was not modelled on the Mumbai commando-style attack.

Three terraced houses, including two neighbouring properties, were searched in Grove Street, Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent. A man, described by neighbours as aged in his mid-20s, was arrested at a three-bedroomed property in Rialto Place, Tunstall.

Police said four men, one aged 19, two aged 26 and one aged 25, were being questioned. One was arrested at a friend's house in Birmingham.

In Cardiff, police arrested three men aged between 23 and 28 at their homes in the Riverside area and two at their homes in the Ely area. In London, police arrested three men aged between 17 and 28 at their homes in the centre of the capital. A fourth home was also being searched.

All 12 suspects were detained on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism in Britain. The arrests were the most high-profile raids in Britain since April 2009, when 12 men were detained across northern England.

Chris Huhne has a blueprint for a green, cold, dark Britain

The government's new energy policy will lead to widespread power cuts and economic disaster, says Christopher Booker

Coal-fired power stations like Drax in Yorkshire provide a third of the UK's electricity

As much of the northern hemisphere last week froze under the snows of the fourth unusually cold winter in a row, our ministers, led by David Cameron and Chris Huhne, the Climate Change Secretary, laid out a blueprint that promises to inflict on Britain a social and economic catastrophe unique in the world. They chose this moment to announce what Mr Huhne called “a seismic shift” in Britain’s energy policy, the purpose of which, according to Mr Cameron, is to replace our “clapped-out” electricity supplies by making Britain “the greenest economy in the world”.

The chief driving force of the policy is the EU’s requirement that, within 10 years, 30 per cent of our electricity must come from renewables, mainly through thousands more wind turbines. This would be so expensive that the Government accepts it could only be made economical by massively rigging the market against any form of electricity derived from fossil fuels, such as the coal and gas which were last week supplying more than 80 per cent of our electricity. By a complex new system of regulations, including what in effect will be a tax of £27 a ton on CO2 emissions, the Government thus hopes to make renewables “competitive” with conventional power.
In addition, it will in effect make it impossible to replace the coal-fired power stations that will be forced to close in the next few years under an EU directive, while proposing a hidden subsidy to any new nuclear power stations. (Although, since the EU does not count carbon-free nuclear power as “renewable”, this may well fall foul of its ban on state aid.) All this, Mr Huhne assures us, might lead to a modest rise of £160 a year in the average household energy bill, but in the long run it will make electricity cheaper than if he had not intervened.
So riddled with wishful thinking and contradictions are these proposals that one scarcely knows where to begin. For a start, even if we could hope to build enough windmills to provide, say, 25 per cent of our electricity (10 times the current proportion), this would require not the 10,000 turbines the Government talks of, but more like 25,000, costing well over £200 billion, plus another £100 billion to connect them up to the grid.
At least the Government admits for the first time that the wind doesn’t always blow; so it proposes a Capacity Mechanism to subsidise the building of dozens of gas-fired power stations, to be kept running all the time, emitting CO2, just to provide instant back-up for when the wind drops. More than once on these recent cold, windless days, the contribution of wind to our electricity needs has been as low as 0.1 per cent – so the back-up to all those turbines will cost billions more, doing much to negate any CO2 savings from the turbines when they work. It does not take long to estimate that the capital cost of Mr Huhne’s new energy policy could well be more than £300 billion over 10 years, or £30 billion a year. Since the total wholesale cost of the electricity we used last year was only around £19 billion, this alone would be well on the way to tripling our bills by 2020.

Put Blair, Brown and Cameron on trial for war crimes

16TH DECEMBER 2010: HEADS were bowed and there was silence in the chamber of the European Parliament in Strasbourg yesterday as embarrassed MEPs slunk deep into their seats, trying to avoid looking at their colleague making his speech.

That was because Nick Griffin was pulling no punches in his condemnation of 'this criminal war' during a debate on the conflict in Afghanistan.
This is what the MEP for the North West of England had to say:
"Madame President
This report demolishes the lies of the British political class about the Afghan War.
I don´t know the names of any of the innocent Afghan victims of this wicked war. But I do know that it has nothing to do with British interests. And I know the names of the 18 brave young men from my constituency who have paid with their lives for this corrupt madness in the last year alone:
Cpl Simon Hornby, Liverpool
Warrant Officer David Markland, Lancashire
Kingsman Sean Dawson, Stalybridge
Cpl Harvey Holmes, Hyde
Cpl Terry Webster, Chester
L/Cpl Andrew Breeze, Manchester
Marine Steven Birdsall, Warrington
Marine Paul Warren, Preston
Sgt Steven Darbyshire, Wigan
Private Alex Isaac, Wirral
Private Douglas Halliday, Wallasey
Colour Sgt Martyn Horton, Runcorn
Private Thomas Sephton, Warrington
Sgt David Monkhouse, Cumbria
Sapper Darren Foster, Carlisle
L/Cpl Jordan Bancroft, Burnley
Kingsman Darren Deady, Bolton
Guardsman Christopher Davies, St. Helens.
What a criminal waste of brave young lives!
It is, of course, no business of the European Union what wars Britain should or should not fight. That is for the British people, and our elected representatives, in our Houses of Parliament in Westminster, to decide.
Just as it will be for us to decide, one happy day, to put Messrs Blair, Brown and Cameron on trial for war crimes. Because Afghanistan, just like Iraq, is a criminal war."

Muslims in bomber's town get £500,000 to combat terror... but don't give police a single tip-off

Muslim groups in the town where the Stockholm suicide bomber lived have been handed more than £550,000 of taxpayers’ money to combat extremism but have failed to tip off police about a single terror suspect.
The grants were handed out to mosques, schools and women’s projects by Luton council to prevent young Muslims being radicalised.
Under the Home Office’s Preventing Violent Extremism scheme, Islamic organisations are given money to stop members turning to violence. The groups are urged to reveal the names of those likely to commit violent crimes so they can be put on an ‘at-risk’ list by police.
But the Daily Mail has learnt that – despite £554,000 being given to groups in Luton since 2008 – not a single name has been handed over.
It comes as the PVE scheme has been put under review by the Government for being ineffective after it was revealed a huge amount of the money simply went to sports and arts groups.
The Luton Islamic Centre, where Taimour Abdulwahab Al-Abdaly preached before being banned, refused to sign up as leaders did not want to inform on their ‘Muslim brothers and sisters’.
Iraq-born Al-Abdaly studied in Luton for several years and became obsessed with extremism while in the UK. He blew up his car then himself in Stockholm last Saturday, the day before his 29th birthday. Swedish authorities said he ‘missed causing a catastrophe by minutes’.
Islamic Centre chairman Qadeer Baksh said: ‘The reason we didn’t take the Government money for the Preventing Violent Extremism scheme is that it requires us to inform on fellow Muslims.

‘If we had taken the money our members would have seen us as working for the Government. The young men with radical views would not have listened to us.
‘I have never called the police or authorities on anyone.’
The PVE scheme was set up by then Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly in 2007, with most of the recipients of its £86million fund being from traditional Labour areas such as Birmingham, East London and West Yorkshire.
It was revealed last year that £129,000 had been awarded to a theatre company, £79,000 for sports coaching, £20,000 for fashion courses and £20,000 to art workshops in areas with large Muslim communities.

Matthew Sinclair, director of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said the Government should focus on tackling terrorism directly rather than wasting money on community groups.
He added: ‘It’s shocking that the PVE grants given out in Luton seem to have achieved such poor results.’
Security minister Baroness Neville-Jones said that under the review the scheme should focus money on people who are at risk of extremism, such as Al-Abdaly, rather than sports groups.
A Luton Borough Council spokesman said: ‘The funding has been allocated against areas of work for women’s inclusion, working with local schools, project work with further and higher education and projects to work with vulnerable individuals.
‘All organisations funded are based in Luton and have a history of either community or youth development work.
‘Information acquired that relates to issues such as child protection, or a clear and present danger to community safety or national security, will supersede any confidentiality requirement.
‘No such issue has been identified.’

Police suspect she she carried out the killing as a religious offering as she listened to the Muslim holy book on an MP3 player at full volume.
The mother, who is understood to have two teenage children of 14 and 16, has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and is in a secure unit.
The gruesome scene was discovered by the girl's father when he arrived home to the flat on Thursday to find his partner clutching a kitchen knife.
The man, believed to be a Muslim convert, dialled 999 and paramedics pronounced the girl dead at the scene.  Police said next of kin have been informed.
One neighbour, who lives in the downstairs flat and asked not to be named, said: 'I was feeding my daughter her lunch at about 3pm and suddenly heard horrific screaming. It is shocking and so upsetting.'
He said the couple have lived in the flat for about a year.
A post-mortem examination will take place on Saturday at Poplar mortuary in east London.
The Metropolitan Police's Child Abuse Investigation Command is leading the murder inquiry. They are not believed to be looking for anybody else.

Yesterday another shocked resident, a mum in her 30s, said the mother always wore a black headscarf with a veil.

She added: 'Usually you could only see her eyes.

'I often heard shouting coming from the flat as she and a man argued.
'Their quarrels would become very heated.'

Killer can't be deported because he might kill again

An Iraqi immigrant who stabbed two doctors to death has won the right to stay in Britain after a judge ruled that he would pose a danger to the public in his homeland.

An immigration tribunal decided that Laith Alani, a paranoid schizophrenic, should not be deported to Iraq because it would breach his human rights and put people there at risk.
Alani has spent the past 19 years in a secure hospital after he killed two NHS consultants in a frenzied attack because he believed he had received a "command from Allah".
The Home Office wanted to deport him on his release to protect the British public, but he appealed to the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT) where a panel led by Lance Waumsley, a senior immigration judge, ruled that he could remain in the UK.
The widows of the two doctors, who were not informed of the killer's legal victory or the plans to release him back into society until they were contacted by The Sunday Telegraph, expressed their shock at the decision.
One of the reasons given by the judges is that if Alani was sent back to Iraq he would be unlikely to receive medicine which keeps his paranoid schizophrenic under control.

EHRC Defeated

Race Gestapo Lose Bid to Kill British National Party

The state-funded race Gestapo, known by its official name as the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (ECHR), has been defeated in its bid to kill the British National Party.
A ruling in the Royal Courts of Justice this morning found against the ECHR which had launched a new action to have party leader Nick Griffin MEP declared in contempt of court.
The British National Party had already complied with an earlier court order to change its membership rules and the ECHR then brought another application claiming that Mr Griffin had not followed the court’s ruling and was therefore in contempt.
The ECHR initially sought to imprison Mr Griffin and seize party assets. This morning’s ruling squashed all of that and found that the party leader was not in contempt of court either.
“This is a great day for the British National Party,” Mr Griffin said.
“We have won a spectacular David and Goliath victory for freedom. This is the fourth time that the politically correct state has tried to jail me, and it is the fourth time that it has blown up in their anti-British faces.
“While the political elite get paid for telling lies, they try to bankrupt and imprison us for telling the truth. Against all the odds, we won again,” Mr Griffin said.
“The High Court has confirmed that the British National Party has acted within the law.
“We are a legal and legitimate political part y which is entitled to organise and campaign for the fair treatment and equality of the British people,” he continued.
“We welcome good people of all races who are willing to help us win fair play and freedom for the English, the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish.
“Most important of all, this case forced the ECHR to acknowledge the existence of the native people of our islands as a distinct ethnic group, with the result that all members of that group are at last entitled to the full protection of anti discrimination laws.
“The English people especially are now no longer a non-people in their own country,” Mr Griffin said.
“It was worth going into debt and risking prison to secure this principle.
“But we are not going to prison. We have won.
“So we are going home to celebrate giving the British people an early Christmas present: freedom, equality and the right to be ourselves.”
* The British National Party will be seeking a full costs order against the ECHR for this vexatious action, Mr Griffin added.

Christmas Social in Market Drayton

North Shropshire British National Party held its Christmas social at a warm, friendly venue in Market Drayton, reports local organiser Phil Reddall.

A number of members and new enquirers enjoyed a drink and buffet during a relaxed evening where Mr. Reddall explained how the Party was moving forwards in the town.

"We're not just a political organisation, we're a cultural movement," Mr. Reddall said. "It's important to show people who we really are, because when people realise they've been lied to by their elected politicians and the mass media machine, the electorate will become very angry indeed."

A new enquirer complemented Mr. Reddall's point, by saying how nervous he'd felt before attending a BNP meeting for the first time, yet his worries were completely unfounded after meeting ordinary local members.
